It's official! We are going to the Olympics!!
We have been invited to head down to Vancouver, along with a number of other Nunavummiut artists, performers and athletes to showcase to the world what the north has to offer! We are all ecstatic about this opportunity to show our work down south and to check out Vancouver.
Silas working at his benchThe studio has been busy day and night as we prepare for the trip. We will be selling our jewellery at the Richmond Art Market, which will be filled with people from all over the world. What great exposure!
Kirk and Kaajuk bending metal to form a bracelet In addition to the market, we will be visiting the Emily Carr University of Art and Design, as well as the Native Education Centre's Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts Program. We are looking forward to engaging in a cultural exchange with the art students in Vancouver.
